i went to fall river and all i got was this lousy picture

i went to fall river today. fall river is a town so big that it had to be devided between MA and RI at some point. well actualy the RI state line moved and the town expanded outwards. but it is huge. the town is set on a hill, over looking a port. there is an old balletship there, and all kinds of crazy nothingness. once a mighty industrial town, kind of like providence, it is now all gone. empty and dead. the huge mile long mills are all vacant and the streets are empty.
fall river is a good example to why this country is still living the same way it did 100 years ago.
the biggest impact here was probebly the great dipression in the 1920-30's. after that nothing really happend. sure there were wars, one world war, one invietnam and many other recetions - but everything is pretty much the same. the trains dont run anymore because no one needs them, no factorys to transport goods. the port is mostly dormant as well. the houses are all old, leaning, and remind you of time warping to 1920. the metal construction is everywhere, it is all rusted through, wich would sigest it has been there exposed for some time. the downtown financial district area, is probebly newer, but is small and dirty as well. other then that it all looks bad. i am sure poeple know what their living standards are, and why and how they choose to live, and i can tell you, a big city metropolitan area, might be somewhat mroe advanced in this country (not a wehole lot more) but other then that there was no reason to change, and so no demand for technology, or social change - in the way society controls itself.
israel is an inveted place, it was designed or not desgined at all  - but built no earlier then 1950.  and for the most part in the 60's when an economical depretion stage had ended. so in that sence everything is new - the infrastructure is new, and modern. too bad the poeple are so stupid.
